TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will hit the road to compete in the Rosalie Resch Invitational this weekend, hosted by the University of Chicago. The team will play UChicago on Friday, September 4, at 6 PM CT. Then the Fightin' Engineers will play a doubleheader against Concordia Wisconsin and Edgewood on Saturday, September 5, at 11 AM CT and 4 PM CT. 

ROSE-HULMAN VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers got off to a strong start with a win over the Spalding University Golden Eagles on Tuesday with a final score of 3-1. 
* Emma Blanton led the team with a double-double, recording 15 kills and 11 digs. 
* Keira Ohse was another standout with a team-high 16 kills in the match. 
* Kennedy Otwell set the tone on defense with a team-high 15 digs. 
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish fifth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 48 points.
* The team returns three of their All-HCAC honorees from last year, including Second Team All-HCAC and Newcomer of the Year Greta Carlson. 
* Other Second Team All-HCAC returners include Keira Ohse and Emma Blanton.
* The Fightin' Engineers are led by Head Coach Rachel Delsi in her ninth season at Rose-Hulman.
* After competing in the UChicago Tournament, Rose-Hulman will travel to play in the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational. 
* The team will face Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday, September 11, at 6 PM CT, then play Wisconsin-Platteville and Millikin on Saturday, September 12, at 10 AM CT and 12 PM CT. 

(RV) UCHICAGO VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* UChicago enters the weekend at 1-0 after earning a win over Millikin with a score of 3-1 in their season opener.
* Thalita Marangon led the team with 14 kills against the Big Blue.
* Julia Lewkowitz and Olivia Zamis followed her with 11 kills each. 
* Ellie Maxwell led the team on defense with 14 digs. 
* UChicago is currently receiving votes in the AVCA Preseason Poll. 
* The Maroons are led by Head Coach Mitchell McPartland in his fifth season with UChicago.
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time record of 0-2 against the Maroons. 
* The last time the teams faced off was during the 2018 season, with UChicago claiming the win with a score of 3-0.
* After hosting the Rosalie Resch Invitational, UChicago will travel to face Carthage on Tuesday, September 8, at 6 PM CT.

CONCORDIA WISCONSIN VOLLEYBALL NOTES:
* Concordia Wisconsin will begin their season against Trine in their first match of the UChicago Tournament on Friday, September 4, at 3:30 PM CT.
* The team's first match against #16 Wisconsin-Whitewater was suspended due to unsafe playing conditions.
* Kayla Mulder is one of the team's top returners, recording 111 kills last season and averaging 1.5 kills per set. 
* McKenna Oetzman is the team's best defender, tallying 292 digs last season, averaging 2.73 digs per set. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Carly Wehling in her fourth season with the team.
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series against Concordia Wisconsin with a record of 0-2.
* The teams last faced each other during the 2022 season, with the Falcons earning the win with a score of 3-1.
* After competing in the UChicago Tournament, Concordia Wisconsin will compete in the River Falls Falcon Invite, facing Bethel on Friday, September 11, at 5 PM CT.

* Nida Zukauskaite is the team's top returner, totaling 290 kills last season with 2.69 kills per set. 
* Abbey Eivins is the top defensive returner, tallying 214 digs and 1.96 digs per set. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Paul Schlomer in his 20th season with the team.
* This will be the second time in program history that Rose-Hulman will face Edgewood. 
* The teams faced off during the 2023 season, with Edgewood earning the win with a score of 3-1.
