Adam Rosen enters his fifth year as Rose-Hulman head baseball coach in the upcoming 2026 season.
Rosen has led the Fightin' Engineers to a 99-72 record in his first four seasons as a head baseball coach after coming to Rose-Hulman with more than a decade of NCAA Division III coaching and recruiting experience.
Rose-Hulman finished the 2025 season with a third-place finish in the conference standings. The squad featured standout Connor O'Connell, who was named CSC Second Team Academic All-American, D3baseball.com Second Team All-Region, and ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region.
In his first year, the 2022 Fightin' Engineers finished as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament runner-ups, and three players earned first-team all-HCAC and ABCA/Rawlings all-region honors.
Rosen's initial squad also featured HCAC Player of the Year and second-team D3baseball.com all-region honors for Josh Mesenbrink, who set the Rose-Hulman single-season home run record with 14 in 2022.
Rosen came to Rose-Hulman after spending the past six seasons as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis. The Bears were ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and made their first appearance at the NCAA Division III World Series in 2021. The 2021 squad also tied also tied the single-season school record with 34 victories, including a school-record six NCAA Tournament wins.
In his six seasons at WashU, Rosen coached a squad that reached four NCAA Division III Tournaments. Over the course of his career, he has coached four players who have signed contracts with MLB organizations. He coached one player selected in the Major League Baseball Draft (Caleb Durbin in the 14th round by the Atlanta Braves in 2021), one player signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Cardinals (Ryan Loutos), and also coached the 2019 D3Baseball.com National Pitcher of the Year (John Howard). Loutos made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals on June 1, 2024, and Durbin made his debut with the Milwaukee Brewers on April 18, 2025. WashU compiled an overall record of 158-58-1 during Rosen's time as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
Prior to his WashU era, Rosen served as assistant coach at traditional NCAA Division III power Marietta College from 2012-15. He coordinated recruiting efforts and served as lead hitting instructor for teams that reached the NCAA Division III Tournament every year. Marietta had an overall record of 91-48 in his era.
Rosen has also served as assistant coach at Centre College for one year, Capital University for two years and Piedmont College for two years to bring 14 years of NCAA Division III coaching experience to his first head coach position. He has also served as a camp instructor at college baseball camps at Clemson, Notre Dame, Navy, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
Rosen played collegiately at Maryville College (Tenn.), earning second-team All-American honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) in 2007. He also earned first-team all-Region honors and was named the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Year after setting six Maryville records as an infielder and pitcher.
Rosen graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from Maryville in 2007, and received a master's degree in business administration from Piedmont College in 2009.
