Eric Lantz starts his 5th season with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football coaching staff in 2021.
Lantz moved to the defensive secondary in 2020, after serving as wide receivers coach, punt return coach, JV offensive coordinator and graphics coordinator for the previous three years. Rashad Brown recorded five interceptions in the last two games of the season, and Riley Roberts was a first-team all-league honoree during Lantz's first year in the secondary in 2020.
In 2018 and 2019, Lantz coached school record setting wide receiver Noah Thomas through successful seasons. Thomas became the first 1,000-yard receiver in program history in 2019, earning all-conference and D3football.com all-region honors.
During the 2017 season, Lantz mentored Raymond Burtnick who earned First Team All-HCAC accolades and broke the Rose-Hulman single season receiving touchdowns record with 15. Burtnick also finished 9th in the nation in touchdown receptions.
Lantz spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Miami University in Ohio, serving as an offensive graduate intern coach specializing in the team's passing game. He assisted with quarterbacks during the 2016 season and gained experience coaching wide receivers and tight ends in 2015-16.
During his stint with the Redhawks they became the only team in the NCAA to start 0-6 and finish the season 6-6 and earn an invite to the 2016 St. Petersburg Bowl.
Lantz helped develop the team's spread offense and assisted with scout defensive preparations and film breakdown at Miami. He also previously served as the team's student equipment manager in 2014.
Lantz completed a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in coaching at Miami University in 2015.
