Joe Nussbaum enters his second season on the football coaching staff at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the upcoming 2019 season.

Nussbaum comes to Rose-Hulman after completing a four-year playing career at NCAA Division III Wheaton College (Ill.).  He competed as a defensive back on the gridiron and also has two years of off-the-field experience as a lifeguard.

Nussbaum's other experiences include serving as an intern for the Ross K. MacNeill Foundation, organizing annual pond hockey tournaments with over 100 athletes in attendance that raised close to $25,000 in funds; leading a missions trip to Mexico in March 2018; and organizing high school student events for YoungLife in Wheaton.

In the classroom, Nussbaum completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Wheaton in 2018.  He has served as a journal co-author of three scholarly journals, including "Simulation of a Smart-Navigated UAV Disaster Response Fleet."
