Tyler Hammond enters his fourth season as the assistant men's basketball coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology during the 2026-27 season. Hammond works closely with player development, recruiting, scouting, and game preparation while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Fightin’ Engineers program.

Hammond began his coaching career at Marietta, helping guide the Pioneers to an NCAA Division III Elite Eight appearance. He later spent four seasons at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, including two years as a graduate assistant and two as a full-time assistant coach.

A Cleveland, Ohio native, Hammond played high school basketball at Saint Ignatius High School before continuing his collegiate career at Marietta College. During his time with the Pioneers, he helped lead the program to one conference championship and two conference tournament championships, along with two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, including a Sweet Sixteen run.

Hammond was a three-time OAC All-Conference honoree and earned All-Region honors during his sophomore season. Hammond appeared in 92 games, making 91 starts across his career, averaging 10.6 points and 3.2 assists per game. He broke out during his senior season with 6.3 assists per game and a 4.9 assist-to-turnover ratio while shooting 50% from three.

Hammond also worked with the Memphis Grizzlies youth basketball department before serving as head coach and associate athletic director at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio. While at Gilmour Academy, he was named the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association District Coach of the Year and the Greater Cleveland Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year for Divisions II–IV.

Hammond earned his bachelor's degree in sport management in 2014 from Marietta College, and he received his master's degree in organizational leadership in 2017 from Siena Heights. He resides in Terre Haute, Indiana, with his fiancée, Hali, and their son, Kyen.
