Volleyball Earns Two Wins on Homecoming

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swept Principia College and Illinois College to improve to 9-8 on the season with two wins on Homecoming Saturday.

The Fightin' Engineers rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Principia in five sets 20-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-11, 15-11. Rose-Hulman swept Illinois College in three by a margin of 25-20, 25-18, 25-10 to close the day with six straight set wins.

In the first match against Principia, Casey Levitt (Thousand Oaks/Westlake) and Sarah Jensen (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley NW) led the Engineers with 10 kills each. Morgan Dreyer (Batesville, Ind/Batesville) led the team with 23 assists, while Jensen contributed 22 assists of her own.

Jensen also added 25 digs to her statistics to record her 9th career triple-double. Kate Dangel (Upper Arlington Ohio/Upper Arlington) also supplied 24 digs in a winning effort.

In the second match against Illinois College, Levitt led the Fightin Engineers with nine kills. Jensen once again led the way with 20 assists, with Dreyer not too far behind with 14 assists of her own. Dangel keyed in 12 digs to help seal a Engineer victory.

Rose-Hulman improved to 9-8 on the season and returns to action on Wednesday with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener against Mount St. Joseph.
