Women's Soccer Battles Centre to Scoreless Draw

DANVILLE, KY. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and regionally ranked Centre College battled to a scoreless women's soccer draw in a matchup featuring twin sisters leading the effort for each team on Sunday afternoon.

Rose-Hulman sophomore goalkeeper Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyle County) recorded 13 saves and her fourth shutout in seven matches to lead the Fightin' Engineer effort.  Her twin sister Alex Combs led the Centre offense with 12 shots, including six that were saved by Lucinda.

Centre outshot Rose-Hulman 34-5 in the contest to solidify their status as one of the top teams in the Great Lakes Region.  Morgan Collins provided support with six shots for the Colonels.

For Rose-Hulman, senior Nicky Wheeler (Avon, Ind./Avon) and sophomore Helena Bomber (Bargersville/Center Grove) had two shots each.

The Fightin' Engineers stand 4-1-2 on the season and extended their streak of matches without a loss to six.  Rose-Hulman hosts Illinois Wesleyan University at the Intramural Field on Wednesday at 5:30.
