Women's Soccer Falls to Illinois Wesleyan

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Regionally ranked Illinois Wesleyan University showcased its strength with a 3-0 women's soccer victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday night.

Sophomore Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyle County) tied the Fightin' Engineer school record for saves for the second time in her career with 18 to lead the Rose-Hulman effort.  Combs also had 18 saves against Centre last season.

Senior Rachel Johnstone (Loveland, Ohio) and sophomore Hayley Gilliam (Zionsville) had shots for the Engineer offense.

Illinois Wesleyan fired 29 shots on the day, with two goals in the first half and one in the second.  Alison Seger opened the scoring in the 19th minute on an assist from Tillie Bill, and Skyler Tomko scored in the final minute of the first half on a pass from Jenna Baker.

Bill scored again in the 61st minute to add an insurance goal for the Titans.

Illinois Wesleyan improved to 5-1-2 on the season, while Rose-Hulman has a 4-2-2 mark.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday at North Park.
