Women's Soccer hosting St. Mary-Woods Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team welcomes cross-town rival St. Mary-of-the-Woods College to campus for the conclusion of the Fightin' Engineers' non-conference season.

Slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Intramural Field, Rose-Hulman enters the game with a 5-2 overall mark. The Engineers, ranked 10th in the Great Lakes Region, began the season with a 5-0 record while outscoring opponents 9-0 during that stretch.

Junior goalkeeper Lucinda Combs and the Rose-Hulman defense surrendered their first goal early in the second half in a 4-1 loss at Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 14  The Engineers last played on Sunday, Sept 21, with a 2-0 loss at regionally ranked Centre.

Rose-Hulman has scored 10 goals on the season by nine different players. Freshman Eliska Saiz is the lone Engineer to score multiple goals this season, both of which game in Rose-Hulman's 3-0 victory over Webster on Sept. 13.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods enters the game with a 2-7 record. The Pomeroys have victories over Andrews University and Holy Cross. In addition, St. Mary-of-the-Woods has played three Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) members thus far this season in Franklin, Hanover, and Anderson.

Individually, junior Amanda Loebker leads the Pomeroys offensively with six goals in nine games to go along with 47 shots.

Following the game with St. Mary-of-the-Woods, the Engineers will travel to Defiance for a 1:00 p.m. game Saturday, Oct. 4.
