TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team continues Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play Saturday, Oct. 18 when the Fightin' Engineers travel to Manchester for a 1 p.m. contest.

Rose-Hulman enters the match with an 8-3-1 record including a 2-1-1 mark in HCAC play. Last week, the Engineers defeated Transylvania 2-1 for the first time since 2007 and battled to a scoreless draw at Franklin on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Offensively, four Engineers have totaled over seven points this season. Junior Hayley Gilliam leads the squad with four assists to go along with three goals for 10 total points. Freshman Eliska Saiz leads the team in goals with four. The Albuquerque, N.M., native also has one assist for nine points. Junior Kate DeMoss and freshman Madeline Romeo each have seven points.

Defensively, the Engineers have allowed only eight goals in 12 games. Junior goalkeeper Lucinda Combs ranks 13th in the nation in save percentage (.902) while collecting 74 saves this season. Additionally, Combs has totaled eight shutouts this season along with 27 for her career.

Manchester comes into the contest with a 6-7 record overall including a 3-1 mark in HCAC play. Recently, the Spartans fell 4-1 at Hanover and responded with a 5-0 victory over Bluffton.

The matchup has postseason implications as Rose-Hulman currently sits fifth in the HCAC while Manchester is third. The Engineers have a 10-4-1 all-time record over the Spartans. Manchester has won the last three meetings.

After the game with Manchester, Rose-Hulman returns home Wednesday, Oct. 22 against Earlham. The game is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
