TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 13-14 overall and 4-2 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball play with a 25-6, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Earlham College at Hulbert Arena on Wednesday night.
Freshman Becca Poppel smashed 10 kills to lead a balanced offensive attack. Junior Sarah Jensen added six kills and a team-high 18 assists, and sophomore Morgan Dreyer contributed 16 assists to the effort.
The team honored Briana Harvey on Senior Night, and the South Vermillion High School graduate responded with six kills, 14 digs and one block assist on the evening. Freshman Gabi Razma paced the defensive effort with 28 digs, and freshman Mackenzie Gossard had a match-high three total blocks.
Jolene Wells led Earlham with 10 kills, and Kayla Morris added eight for the Quakers.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at Bluffton University and Defiance College in a sweep of Ohio conference schools on Saturday and Sunday. Earlham dropped to 4-20 and 0-7 in league play.
