TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team hits the road for three matches in three days to close the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season schedule this weekend.

The Fightin' Engineers travel to Anderson University on Friday at 2 p.m., travel to Transylvania University on Saturday at noon, and host Manchester University on Sunday at noon.

Rose-Hulman enters the three-day stretch with a chance to earn the coveted No. 2 seed for the HCAC Tournament to be held at West Indy Racquet Club on Oct. 18-19. 

The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds receive a first-round bye in the event, and automatically advance to the semifinal round slated 2 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 18.  The championship match is scheduled for Sunday Oct. 19 at 10 a.m.  First-round action involving the No. 3-No. 6 seeds takes place on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Rose-Hulman has won its last four matches by 9-0 counts and no Fightin' Engineer has lost an individual match since Sept. 14.  Suzana Mohd (5-0) and Isabella Evans (7-0) remain unbeaten in singles play on the season, and the doubles team of Evans and Lauren Edwards (5-0) is also undefeated this fall.

Anderson comes into the week with a 6-3 overall record and a 4-1 mark in HCAC play.  The Ravens have won five consecutive matches coming into Friday's m atchup, including conference wins over Earlham, Transylvania, Defiance and Mount St. Joseph.

Transylvania stands 3-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play entering Saturday's matchup in Lexington, while Manchester is 3-5 overall and 2-3 in league play.  All three opponents currently rank in the top six spots in the league, but each needs one win this weekend to clinch a spot in next week's HCAC Tournament.
