COMPLETE RESULTS
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team handled Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, defeating the Titans 233.5-58.5.
Rose-Hulman opened the event by first and second in the 200-medley relay. Freshman Kirk Dickson, sophomore Pierce Bartine, freshman Patrick King, and freshman Cam Gill won the event with a time of 1:40.24.
The Engineers swept the 200-freestyle by finishing in the top eight spots. Junior Orion Martin won the event with a time of 1:44.30. In the next event, sophomore Nate Weber swam a time of 56.96 to win the 100-backstroke. In addition, Martin also won the 100-freestyle with a time of 47.84.
Bartine then won his second event of the day, the 100-breaststroke, with a time of 1:04.40. In addition, the Engineers took second, third, and fourth place in the event.
Sophomore Matt Schulstad followed Bartine by winning the 200-butterfly witha time of 2:03.16.
Junior Sam Gould won both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions scoring over 240 points in both events.
Freshman Ben Stone won the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:01.93. Sophomore Alexander Yaung followed his teammate by swimming a time of 2:18.59 to win the 200-breaststroke.
Junior Matthew King won the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:58.46 while Martin won his third event of the day, the 100-butterfly, with a time of 50.40.
The Engineers finished the meet by winning both the 200-individual medley and the 200-freestyle.
On the women's side, the Engineers won the one-meter diving competition as junior Regen Foote scored 204.30.
Rose-Hulman returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 8, when Wabash and Manchester come to Terre Haute for a 1 p.m. meet.
