GAME NOTES
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team opens its 2014-15 campaign at the 14th Annual McWilliams Classic held at the Washington University (Mo.) Nov. 21-22.
Rose-Hulman will open with Washington U. at 7 p.m. (CST) on Friday. The Bears come into the game 1-0 having defeated Lake Forest 78-38 in their season opener.
The Fightin' Engineers made their fourth consecutive trip to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament a season ago finishing sixth in the league with an 8-10 mark. Rose-Hulman also finished with an overall mark of 10-16. Sophomore Abbie Marshall leads all returners, averaging 7.4 points per game last season. Sophomore Kristen Belyea averaged 7.2 points ger game a season ago.
Washington U. finished 24-3 a season ago and reached the second round of the NCAA III Women's Basketabll Tournament.
Denison and Southwestern (Texas) play in the other opening round game. The third-place game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, while the championship contest starts at 7 p.m. Central Time on Saturday. Matchups will be set based on the results of the two opening round games.
After the tournament in St. Louis, the Engineers continue their non-conference schedule with a 7 p.m. game at Illinois Institute of Technology on Monday, Nov. 24.
