TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team makes its home debut with a match against Webster University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Fightin' Engineers and Gorloks will square off at Jim Rendel Field, located behind the Rose-Hulman baseball field at the intersection of US-Highway 40 and US-Highway 46.
Rose-Hulman enters the contest with a perfect 4-0 record and has yet to allow a goal during the 2014 season. Junior Lucinda Combs was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording her third and fourth shutouts of the season last week, and junior Hayley Gilliam leads the offensive attack with one goal and two assists.
Rose-Hulman attempted to return to the field on Wednesday night at Marian University, only to have the match called 12 minutes in due to thunderstorms.
Webster enters the match with a 2-1-2 record after a 3-1 victory over Millikin on Wednesday. Rose-Hulman and Webster have both defeated Millikin this season, with the Fightin' Engineers earning a 1-0 victory on Sept. 6.
After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman travels to Illinois Wesleyan University on Sunday. The Titans are receiving votes in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America national coaches poll.
