DECATUR, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 4-0 on the women's soccer season with a 1-0 victory at Millikin University on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Hayley Gilliam blasted the lone goal of the contest on a shot from 20 yards out midway through the second half to give the Fightin' Engineers the offense they needed.
Defensively, Rose-Hulman recorded its fourth consecutive shutout to open the 2014 season. The Engineers outshot Millikin 14-6, and junior Lucinda Combs recorded her 23rd career shutout with two saves.
Offensively, junior Kate DeMoss and senior Haley O'Neil led the Rose-Hulman with three shots each.
Rose-Hulman puts its 4-0 record on the line at Marian University in Indianapolis on Wednesday night.
