TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team won both matches at its Invitational Saturday, coming from behind to defeat Webster University in five sets before defeating Illinois Institute of Technology in four sets.
In the match with Webster, Rose-Hulman rallied from a two-set deficit to earn a 20-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-11.
Junior Sarah Jensen led Rose-Hulman with 13 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs for her second triple-double of the season. Sophomore Emily McLendon added 10 kills and a team-high four blocks, with sophomore Katelyn Race contributing nine kills.
Sophomore Morgan Dreyer had 25 assists and added seven kills. Senior Briana Harvey smashed seven kills with 12 digs, and freshman Gabi Razma led an attack that featured five players with double-digit digs with 18.
In the Engineers 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-15 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology, both Dreyer and Jensen led Rose-Hulman offensively with 10 kills while also setting up other teammates recording 17 and 16 assists respectively.
In addition, Jensen recorded 18 digs and her third triple-double of the season. Freshman Mackenzie Gossard led the blocking performance with five block assists.
As a team, Rose-Hulman tallied 73 digs with Razma leading the squad with 23 digs. The Engineers hit a .221 clip for the match while holding the Scarlet Hawks to a mere .123 attack percentage.
Rose-Hulman returns home for two more matches on Sunday. The Fightin' Engineers face Illinois College at 11 a.m. and St. Ambrose at 1 p.m.
