LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Transylvania University scored two first half goals to earn a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon.
Erin Miller scored for Transylvania in the 19th minute to give the Pioneers a 1-0 edge. Charlotte Pruet added the final score of the day in the 36th minute.
Transylvania outshot the Fightin' Engineers 11-8 in the contest. Kate DeMoss had a team-high three shots, and Kirby Kern had two shots.
Senior Lucinda Combs led the Rose-Hulman defense with six saves.
Rose-Hulman (5-7, 1-2 HCAC) returns to action at home against Franklin College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
