TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team returns to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a home matchup against Hanover College on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the Fightin' Engineers Senior Day.
Rose-Hulman will recognize seven seniors on Saturday. Lucinda Combs has been in goal for the Engineers all four years of her career and has 34 total shutouts. Combs has 449 saves and a 0.79 goals against average for her career.
Helena Bomber has been a presence in the midfield for the Engineers for the past three years. She records five goals and six assists during her career at Rose-Hulman.
Katie Maier is a three year starter and has played in 68 games for the Fightin' Engineers.
Kate DeMoss has played in 65 games with 62 starts for RHIT. Throughout her career she has tallied twenty goals and nine assists for the Engineers.
Cassidy Cain and Mallory McDevitt have led the Engineers backfield for four years. Cain has played in 58 games, and McDevitt has played all 72 games of her career.
Hayley Gilliam has appeared in 69 games for RHIT and has tallied 14 career goals along with 17 assists during her career at Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers are on a two-game win streak with recent wins over Manchester University and Earlham College.
Rose-Hulman stands 7-8 overall and 3-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while Hanover has a mark of 10-5 and 5-1 in league games entering Saturday's matchup.
Individually, senior Kate DeMoss (7), sophomore Madeline Romeo (4), senior Hayley Gilliam (3), senior Helena Bomber (2), and sophomore Eliska Saiz (2) have scored multiple goals this season to lead the Rose-Hulman offense. Senior Lucinda Combs has compiled a 1.20 goals against average, an .820 save percentage and 82 total saves in 15 matches.
After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman will travel to Anderson University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
