ANDERSON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a balanced team performance to defeat Anderson University 28-26, 25-22, 25-15 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action on Wednesday night.
Freshman Julia Hammond and freshman Bailey MacInnis had 10 kills each, and sophomore Becca Poppel added nine for a balanced hitting attack. Sophomore Alison Rogozinski had 21 assists, and graduate student Sarah Jensen added 14 assists. Sophomore Mackenzie Gossard added three block assists.
Perhaps the most impressive statistical performance came from sophomore Gabi Razma, who recorded an impressive 40 digs in just three sets of play. Rose-Hulman rallied from a 19-12 deficit in the opening set to take control of the match.
The Fightin' Engineers improved to 14-16 and 3-5 in conference matches with the victory. Rose-Hulman travels to Transylvania University for the final match of the regular season on Saturday.
