Unbeaten Football Team Heads to Bluffton

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology puts its unbeaten football record on the line with a trip to Bluffton University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Fightin' Engineers stand 4-0 on the season and are receiving votes in the NCAA Division III weekly national top 25 poll from both d3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association.  Rose-Hulman enters the game after an 81-13 win at Anderson University that featured the points in a game since 1913.  The Engineers have also defeated Kalamazoo, Illinois College and Hanover this season.

Bluffton enters with a 2-2 record and is 1-1 in HCAC play.  The Beavers defeated Hanover 56-10 in the Panthers Homecoming Game last weekend.  Bluffton also has a 38-26 win over Baldwin-Wallace so far this season.

Rose-Hulman ranks in the NCAA Division III national top 20 in passing offense (11th), completion percentage (11th), rushing defense (12th), turnovermargin (12th), total offense (13th), scoring offense (13th), passing efficiency defense (18th) and total defense (19th) entering Saturday's matchup.

Meanwhile, Austin Swenson ranks in the top 15 nationally in touchdown passes (4th), points responsible for (10th), completion percentage (10th), completions per game (11th), passing efficiency (15th) and passing yards per game (15th).

Bluffton amassed 579 yards of total offense in its 56-10 win at Hanover College last weekend. Connor Sheehan and Colby Speice have combined for 990 passing yards and the ground attack has combined for 880 yards and four scores.  Defensively, Ryan Aelker is one of the top defensive linemen in NCAA Division III with 11 tackles-for-loss and eight sacks so far this season.

After this weekend's matchup, Rose-Hulman returns to action with a home matchup against Defiance College on Oct. 17.
