TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology travels to Earlham College for the annual "Battle of the Borders Broadsword" football matchup on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Rose-Hulman stands 7-2 on the season and could win eight games or more in a season for just the fifth time in school history on Saturday.  The Fightin' Engineers last won eight games in 1988 and set a school record with nine wins in 1987.

Rose-Hulman holds a 13-0 lead in the Battle of the Borders Broadsword series since the first Borders matchup in 2002.  The Fightin' Engineers lead the all-time series over Earlham 45-38 and hold a 4-0 lead since Earlham joined the HCAC in 2010.

Junior Austin Swenson continues to lead the offense with 2,374 passing yards and 26 touchdowns this season.  Aaron Abbott (47 rec., 480 yards, 2 TDs) and Alec Fisher (46 rec., 701 yards, 10 TDs) have the top receiving numbers.  Joe Moehrle (32 rec., 504 yards, 6 TDs) and Jacob Dye (30 rec., 388 yards, 7 TDs) have also provided multiple throwing targets.  Senior T.J. Demos will complete his career starting every game of his Fightin' Engineer career on the offensive line.

Sophomore Kevin Dufauchard has led the ground attack with 838 rushing yards and six touchdowns, and Abbott has rushed for a team-best seven touchdowns.  Senior Craig Larew has successfully made all 43 of his extra point attempts and is 6-12 on field goals.

Defensively, sophomore Kaelen Garner leads the Fightin' Engineers with 56 tackles and sophomore Mike Henry has contributed 49.  Sophomore Alec Thompson has 40 stops and a team-high four interceptins.  Junior Connor Kispert ranks among the HCAC leaders in tackles-for-loss (17) and sacks (7.5), and Chris Sander joins Jon Poore with two fumble recoveries this fall.

Earlham stands 0-9 entering Saturday's matchup but comes off its best performance of the year in a 35-34 overtime loss to Hanover on Oct. 31.  Jalen Kenner is the team's top ranked offensive performer as the HCAC leader in all-purpose yards.  Lajay Kelly and Ishmael MacNeil rank in the top five in the conference in tackles.
