TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on career-high scoring performances from seniors Matt Loesing and Dillon Reynolds to propel a 76-67 men's basketball victory over DePauw University at Hulbert Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Loesing finished 8-11 from the field and 3-4 from the foul line to tie his career-high total of 19 points set last year at Manchester.  Reynolds had career-high totals of 18 points and seven assists as the Fightin' Engineers shot 41% from the field in the victory.

Senior Jimmy Miller scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the Fightin' Engineers, and freshman Charlie Aimone pitched in with a career-high eight points.  Junior Wade Stallings and freshman Stephen Schueth scored six points each, with Schueth adding six rebounds.  Freshman Luke Callahan contributed to the balanced team performance with five points and six rebounds.

Luke Lattner led the DePauw offense with 22 points on 10-10 from the free throw line.  John Starkey came off the bench to add 14 points and six rebounds for the Tigers.

Rose-Hulman relied on a strong defensive effort that included holding DePauw to 1-15 from three-point range to earn the victory.  The Fightin' Engineers also outrebounded DePauw 42-35 in the contest.

Rose-Hulman's hot shooting started the game off strong, as the Engineers led 20-6 with 11:33 left in the first half on two straight three-pointers by Reynolds.  The lead stayed at 12 points at 38-26 at the break.

In the second half, DePauw closed to within nine points at 56-47 on a Starkey layup with 8:01 remaining.  Teh Fightin' Engineers answered with a 14-4 run to push the lead to 70-51 after a run capped by a three-pointer by Schueth and a score by Loesing.

Rose-Hulman improved to 3-2 on the season and opens its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule at home against Mount St. Joseph on Saturday at 3 p.m.  Rose-Hulman and Mount St. Joseph were picked to finish second and first, respectively, in this year's HCAC preseason coaches poll.  DePauw dropped to 2-3 on the campaign.
