TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology allowed the fewest points in a women's basketball game in school history and shot 40% from the field to defeat Illinois Tech 87-17 on Monday night at Hulbert Arena.
Freshman Brianna Gliesmann led the Rose-Hulman offense with 30 points. Gliesmann finished 8-10 from the field, 4-4 from three-point range and 10-10 on the free throw line in the performance. She also contributed a double-double with 11 rebounds.
Freshman Ally Bromenschenkel scored nine points with six rebounds as part of the otherwise balanced attack. Freshman Chiarra Franklin added eight points and 10 rebounds, and junior Kristen Belyea scored eight points.
Junior Josie Schmidt and freshman Mandi Routon added seven points each, sophomore Lindsey Fagerberg contributed six points, and sophomore Ava Paruleski scored five as the Engineers hit their season high in points.
Hailey Borowczyk led the Illinois Tech offense with 10 points. The Fightin' Engineers held Illinois Tech to just 14% from the field in the contest.
Rose-Hulman improved to 6-3 on the season, while Illinois Tech dropped to 0-8. Rose-Hulman returns to action at home with the Clabber Girl Classic against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Friday night at Hulbert Arena.
