TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team continues non-conference play Saturday, Feb. 27, as the Fightin' Engineers take on Monmouth College at 12:30 p.m. followed by a date with Wabash College at 5 p.m.
Rose-Hulman enters the weekend with a 1-1 record on the season having lost to IU-Southeast and defeated Webster on Feb. 14. Monmouth enters with a 2-3 record having defeated NAIA foe St. Ambrose and Buena Vista. The Little Giants are 7-3 on the season and come into the weekend having won four of their last five contests. The lone loss for Wabash came at the hands of regional powerhouse Kalamazoo College.
Sophomore Georges Adam along with freshmen Cam Metzger and Derek Benedict are the Engineers who remain undefeated in singles competition. All have won both matches played at second, third, and sixth singles respectively. Sophomore Brandon Benedict (first), junior Matt Conrad (fourth), and freshman Tyler Haas (fifth) are all 1-1 in their respective singles flights.
All three of Rose-Hulman's doubles teams have posted 1-1 through two dual matches. All three teams won against Webster and lost to IU-Southeast.
After the matches at Wabash, the Engineers open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play at Franklin on March 14. The match is slated to begin at noon.
