BOX SCORES: MILLIKIN / UW-LA CROSSE
DECATUR, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology dropped a four-set decision to Millikin University and a three-set matchup with Wisconsin-La Crosse to finish the Millikin Invitational on Saturday.
Millikin topped the Engineers 29-27, 19-25, 17-25, 23-25 in their first game during Saturday's Invitational. Junior Emily McLendon had eight kills to lead the Rose-Hulman offensive effort, and freshman Bailey MacInnis contributed six kills. Freshman Marissa Gollnick had 17 assists to lead the team.
Junior Morgan Dreyer added 10 assists on the match. McLendon recorded eight total blocks, and sophomore Becca Poppel pitched in with three blocks.
Sophomore Gabi Razma had a team-high 15 digs.
In the final match of the invitational, UW-La Crosse topped the Engineers 25-14. 26-24. 25-18. Poppel had a team-high five kills. Gollnick had eight assists, and sophomore Ellese Petty led the team with eight digs.
For her efforts, Gollnick earned a spot on the all-tournament team following the final match.
Rose-Hulman dropped to 8-7 overall and travels to DePauw University Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match up.
