TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Sophomore Austin Webb scored two goals and senior Dieter Schultz had two assists as Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology powered past Greenville College 3-1 in men's soccer action on Wednesday night at the Intramural Field.
Webb scored in the 12th minute to open the scoring, courtesy of a pass from Schultz. Greenville answered with a score by Richie Hershkowitz to tie the score at 1-1.
Rose-Hulman regained the lead for good on Webb's second goal of the night at the 36:29 mark of the opening half. Freshman Erik Eksten provided an insurance goal less than two minutes into the second half, off Schultz's second assist of the evening.
Rose-Hulman outshot Greenville 18-5 in the contest, led by four shots from Webb. Ben Lyon and Trevor Bednarek fired three shots each. Sophomore Michael Lawrence improved to 2-0 on the season with two saves at the goalkeeper position.
Rose-Hulman improved to 3-1 overall, while Greenville dropped to 1-3. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday night with an 8 p.m. home match against Millikin University.
