TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology looks to extend its seven-game women's basketball winning streak with Wednesday night's 7:30 p.m. home matchup against Earlham College.
Rose-Hulman stands 12-3 overall and 6-2 in HCAC play entering Wednesday's game after a 75-53 win over Defiance on Saturday afternoon. The Fightin' Engineers shot 48% from the field, including 57% from behind the arc. The offense was led by freshman Brianna Gliesmann (18 pts) who went 4-4 from 3-point range, and ranks first in the league at 3-point percentage (57%).
The Fightin' Engineers lineup features last week's HCAC Player of the Week in freshman Ally Bromenschenkel. Bromenschenkel is averaging 8.6 ppg and 4.7 rpg. She is also ranked second in the league in field goal percentage with 60%.
The balanced Rose-Hulman scoring attack features eight players averaging between 5.0 and 8.2 points per game. Ally Bromenschenkel leads the team in scoring at 8.6 points per game, and the starting frontcourt has featured Josie Schmidt (7.9 ppg) and Abbie Marshall (6.3 ppg). The starting backcourt has included seniors Cassidy Cain (5.9 ppg) and Andi Evers (3.3 ppg).
Other leading scorers for the Fightin' Engineers have included Kristen Belyea (7.3 ppg), Brianna Gliesmann (7.3 ppg), Chiarra Franklin (5.0 ppg) and Alyzia Dilworth (5.6 ppg). A total of 12 players have seen action in ten or more contests.
Earlham stands 4-11 overall and 2-6 in league play entering Wednesday's matchup. The Quakers are currently on a two-game win streak with wins over Defiance College and Mount St. Joseph University. Kasin Spay leads three players in double figures at 17.7 points per game and ranks fifth in school history with 1,276 career points.
After Wednesday's matchup, Rose-Hulman returns to action with an away doubleheader at Transylvania University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
