TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology continues its 2016 women's basketball schedule with a home matchup against Hanover College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Rose-Hulman stands 8-3 overall and 2-2 in HCAC play entering Wednesday's game. The Fightin' Engineers recorded the best single-game offensive and defensive performances in school history during their games before the holiday break, scoring 104 points against St. Mary-of-the-Woods and holding Illinois Tech to just 17.
Rose-Hulman extended its winning streak to three games with a 61-58 win over Transylvania on Saturday, featuring a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Cassidy Cain.
The balanced Rose-Hulman scoring attack features nine players averaging between 5.0 and 8.7 points per game. Junior Kristen Belyea leads the team in scoring at 8.7 points per game, and the starting frontcourt has featured Josie Schmidt (8.5 ppg), Ally Bromenschenkel (6.8 ppg) and Abbie Marshall (5.9 ppg). The starting backcourt has included Cain (6.4 ppg) and Andi Evers (3.2 ppg).
Other leading scorers for the Fightin' Engineers have included Brianna Gliesmann (7.1 ppg), Chiarra Franklin (5.0 ppg) and Alyzia Dilworth (5.1 ppg). A total of 11 players have seen action in nine or more contests.
Hanover stands 6-5 overall and 2-2 in league play entering Wednesday's matchup. The Panthers feature the top scorer in the conference with Allison Nash (17.1 ppg), Hanover also features Morgan Bivins (55.4%) who is in the top of the conference in field goal percentage.
After Wednesday's matchup, Rose-Hulman returns to action at home against Manchester University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
