TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology handed No. 21 ranked Bluffton University its first loss of the 2015-16 women's basketball season with a 57-50 victory on Saturday at Hulbert Arena.

Rose-Hulman improved to 16-3 with its 11th straight victory on the season.  The Fightin' Engineers stand 10-2 in HCAC play, just one game behind Bluffton in the battle for first place in the conference.

Sophomore Alyzia Dilworth led the balanced Rose-Hulman scoring attack with 13 points.  Freshman Abby Bromenschenkel came off the bench for 11 points and four rebounds, and freshman Ally Bromenschenkel also reached double figures with 10 points.

The Fightin' Engineers ended Bluffton's 18-game winning streak with a strong defensive effort that held the Beavers to 38% from the field.  Rose-Hulman also held Bluffton to 0-10 from three-point range.

Rose-Hulman extended its second longest winning streak in school history to 11 games and the Fightin' Engineers knocked off a nationally ranked team for the first time since 2012 in the victory.

Other key contributors for Rose-Hulman included freshman Chiarra Franklin with seven points and seven rebounds; and junior Abbie Marshall with five points.

Bluffton was led in scoring by Kaitlyn Pennekamp with 16 points and three steals.  Rachel Beining also reached double figures with 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Fightin' Engineers also celebrated the 20th Anniversary of women's basketball at the college on the afternoon.  Nearly 20 percent of Rose-Hulman's women's basketball alumni returned for the game.

Rose-Hulman also honored over 50 local cancer survivors in a pregame ceremony.  All proceeds on the day will be donated to the Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors Organization.

Rose-Hulman returns to action with a home game against Franklin College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
