Rose-Hulman Set to Host Chicago Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- After opening Heartland Conference action with three consecutive wins, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team will hope to extend its current winning streak against an out of conference opponent.  On Wednesday December 14 the Fightin' Engineers will welcome the University of Chicago Maroons to Hulbert Arena.

Wednesday night's matchup features two of the top NCAA Division III women's basketball programs in the Midwest.  Chicago enters the matchup with an overall record of 6-1.  The Maroons recently defeated Eureka 82-49 on Monday night.  Chicago has also defeated Hanover College by a final score of 113-83 earlier this season.

Rose-Hulman stands at 7-2 (3-0 HCAC) on the season and the Fightin' Engineers are currently on a three game winning streak.  Over the weekend RHIT knocked off No. 19 Bluffton 55-46.  Sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel led the the Fightin' Engineers with 21 points and 10 rebounds; it was her second double-double of the season.

So far this season Ally Bromenschenkel has been one of the top performers for RHIT averaging 14.9 points and 8.0 rebounds a game.  Junior Alyzia Dilworth (6.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg), senior Abbie Marshall (4.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg), and sophomore Abby Bromenschenkel (6.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.4 apg) have started every game this season.

Chicago is led by senior Britta Nordstrom (11.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and junior Miranda Burt (11.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg).  The Maroons have four players averaging 10 or more points per game.  

Tipoff Wednesday night is set for 7:30 p.m. at Hulbert Arena.
