TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology looks to complete a perfect regular season in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis play with Saturday's 5 p.m. matchup against Transylvania University.
The match has been rescheduled for the Bluegrass Racquet Club in Lexington, Ky.
Rose-Hulman stands 17-8 overall and 7-0 in HCAC play entering Saturday's match. The Fightin' Engineers look to complete their second consecutive perfect season in conference play and guarantee the No. 1 seed for the HCAC Tournament on May 7-8.
Rose-Hulman moved up to a season-high No. 12 in the ITA Central Region rankings this week, increasing from No. 18 in the season's initial poll last month.
Transylvania currently holds the No. 3 seed in the HCAC standings at 5-1 in league play and is 5-5 overall.
Individually, Brandon Benedict has set a school record with 41 total wins this season (22 doubles, 19 singles). Georges Adam has added 35 wins (22 doubles, 14 singles), with Andre Adam third on the squad with 34 wins (18 singles, 16 doubles). Cam Metzger has tallied 28 wins (13 singles, 15 doubles) and Matt Conrad ranks fifth on the team with 25 (13 singles, 12 doubles).
After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman will compete in the HCAC Tournament at West Indy Racquet Club on May 6-7. The semifinal match is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. with the championship match scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday.
