TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns to in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a trip to Anderson University on Wednesday night.
Anderson is tied for second in the HCAC standings at 5-1 in league play and 8-5 overall. Rose-Hulman is tied for fourth in the league at 3-3 in conference games.
Rose-Hulman looks to bounce back from losses to Hanover and Manchester with Wednesday's game. Charlie Aimone averages a team-high 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Collin Wojcik has added 13.1 points off the bench.
The recent starting lineup has included Stephen Schueth (7.5 ppg); Kyle Steckel (2.9 ppg); Aimone (17.5 ppg); John Czarnecki (7.4 ppg); and Eli Combs (4.4 ppg). Ryuji Aoki has added 9.1 points per game off the bench, including a career-high 20 points against Manchester. Luke Callahan has returned from injury and currently averages 11.5 points per contest.
Anderson stands 8-5 and 5-1 with one of the top offenses in the Midwest. Trevor Lucas averages 22.8 points per game and is joined in the starting lineup by Cole Hartman (17.9 ppg), Stanley Duncan (14.7 ppg), Nathaniel Acree (12.3 ppg) and Brett Anderson (7.3 ppg) for a team averaging 86 points per game.
Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Anderson 36-22, including 11-9 in HCAC play. The Fightin' Engineers have also won the last two meetings in the series. After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman returns to action with a home matchup against Defiance College on Saturday.
