TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns home to face Earlham College in an in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-4 in HCAC play with a 73-60 win over Defiance on Saturday. Wade Stallings and Collin Wojcik led four players in double figures with 15 points each. The Fightin' Engineers also shot 53% from the field in the win.
The most recent starting lineup has included Stallings (4.1 ppg); Stephen Schueth (8.1 ppg); Charlie Aimone (16.7 ppg); Nick McGrail (6.2 ppg); and John Czarnecki (7.3 ppg). The Fightin' Engineers average 73 points per game and are outrebounding their opponents by 1.9 per contest this season.
Earlham stands 5-10 overall and 1-7 in league play. The Quakers narrowly missed a chance to upset HCAC co-leader Hanover earlier this month, falling 59-58 on a missed shot at the buzzer. Darrell Hutchison leads a balanced scoring attack with an average of 14.5 points per game.
Earlham leads the all-time series with Rose-Hulman 54-53 entering Wednesday's game, but the Fightin' Engineers hold an 11-1 edge in HCAC play. Rose-Hulman has won the last six meetings in the series.
After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman returns home to face Transylvania University on Saturday at 1 p.m. The men's game will be played first as part of Saturday's doubleheader.
