TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts Transylvania University in a key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hulbert Arena.
Rose-Hulman has won its last two games to improve to 5-4 in HCAC play and 7-9 overall. Transylvania enters on a nine-game winning streak, with its last loss coming to Rose-Hulman in a home game on Dec. 17.
The Fightin' Engineers most recently picked up an 82-66 win over Earlham on Wednesday. Charlie Aimone scored a career-high 36 points in the victory, with John Czarnecki contributing 17 points to the effort. Rose-Hulman also recently defeated Defiance 73-60 last Saturday.
The most recent Rose-Hulman lineup included Wade Stallings (4.3 ppg); Aimone (17.9 ppg); Nick McGrail (5.9 ppg); Collin Wojcik (12.6 ppg) and Czarnecki (7.9 ppg). Stephen Schueth (8.1 ppg) and Ryuji Aoki (9.1 ppg) have been the team's remaining leading scorers.
Transylvania comes into Saturday's matchup with a nine-game winning streak, including a 92-87 win over Mount St. Joseph and a 111-102 double overtime victory against Defiance. The Pioneers feature a starting lineup with all five players in double figures, led by Cooper Theobald (16.8 ppg) and Alex Jones (16.6 ppg).
Transylvania leads the all-time series 17-10 overall and 15-9 in HCAC play. Rose-Hulman has won the last three meetings in the series, including a 77-70 win in Lexington earlier this season.
