TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road to take on Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball leader Hanover College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Rose-Hulman dropped a narrow 103-95 decision to Transylvania in its most recent game. Three players recorded career-high scoring performances in the contest, led by John Czarnecki with 23 points. Nick McGrail added 19 points, and Michael Lake contributed 10 points to the effort.
The trio were joined in double figures by junior Collin Wojcik with 19 points. Rose-Hulman's 95 points on Saturday marked a team season-high effort.
The recent Rose-Hulman starting lineup has included junior Stephen Schueth (7.9 ppg); Wade Stallings (4.4 ppg); Charlie Aimone (17.0 ppg); McGrail (6.9 ppg); and Czarnecki (8.8 ppg). The Fightin' Engineers have won two of their last three games entering Wednesday's matchup.
Hanover stands 14-2 overall and leads the HCAC standings at 9-1 in league play. Wes McKinney leads the Panthers in scoring at 20.3 points per game. Cam Fails added 14.6 points per game, and Corey Muchmore is also in double figures at 13.6 points per contest.
Hanover won the first meeting between these two teams at Hulbert Arena earlier this month. The Panthers lead the all-time series 50-38, but Rose-Hulman holds a narrow 13-12 lead in HCAC play.
After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman hits the road for a 3 p.m. matchup at Bluffton University on Saturday.
