TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action with a trip to Bluffton University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Fightin' Engineers are coming off a 73-68 victory at HCAC co-leader Hanover College on Wednesday night. Rose-Hulman relied on 22 points from Collin Wojcik and 18 from Charlie Aimone to knock off a Panthers team that is receiving votes in the d3hoops.com national Top 25 poll.
Rose-Hulman (8-10, 6-5 HCAC) has won three of its last four games entering Saturday's matchup. The Fightin' Engineers defeated Defiance and Earlham at home, along with the win at Hanover, since Jan. 14.
The recent starting lineup has included Aimone (17.1 ppg); Stephen Schueth (7.7 ppg); Wade Stallings (4.3 ppg); Nick McGrail (8.8 ppg); and John Czarnecki (8.8 ppg). Eleven different Fightin' Engineers have recorded double-figure scoring games for the balanced attack.
Bluffton stands 10-7 overall and 3-7 in conference play entering Saturday's home game. Senior Austin Rohde is one of the HCAC's top scorers at 19.1 points per game. Sophomore Jared Wentling adds 14.7 points per contest. The Beavers had won consecutive games over Defiance and Franklin before falling to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday.
Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Bluffton 13-8, beginning when the Fightin' Engineers joined the HCAC in 2006. The Fightin' Engineers have won three straight meetings, including a 79-70 decision in Terre Haute on Dec. 10.
