TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for Manchester University and an in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Fightin' Engineers are fourth in the current HCAC standings at 3-2 in league play after falling to first-place Hanover on Wednesday. Manchester stands 2-9 overall and 1-4 in conference games after defeating Franklin for their first league victory on Wednesday.
Sophomore Charlie Aimone continues to rank in the HCAC top five in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game. Senior Collin Wojcik comes off the bench at 13.6 points per game, and freshman Ryuji Aoki has pitched in with 8.2 points per game.
The most recent starting lineup has included junior Stephen Schueth (7.4 ppg); junior Kyle Steckel (3.2 ppg); Aimone (18.2 ppg); freshman John Czarnecki (7.3 ppg); and freshman Eli Combs (4.5 ppg).
Manchester snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating Franklin 79-72 in its most recent HCAC game on Wednesday. Tyler Alexander (16.6 ppg) and Adrian Johnson (15.9 ppg) lead a scoring attack that features seven players averaging more than 4.5 points per game.
Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Manchester 26-24, including a 13-11 mark in HCAC play. The Fightin' Engineers won the two most recent meetings, highlighted by an 82-80 win in the 2016 HCAC Tournament opening round last season that included a game winning shot at the buzzer by Luke Callahan.
After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman returns to action at Anderson University in another in-state conference matchup on Wednesday night.
