FRANKLIN, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's soccer team ran its win streak to seven games on Wednesday night following a tight, 1-0 road win over Franklin College.
Neither team could gain much of an advantage in the first half, playing to a scoreless draw at halftime. The Fightin' Engineers out shot Franklin 4-0 through 45 minutes of action.
The lone goal of the game came with just under four minutes left on the game clock. Senior Austin Webb converted a penalty kick that gave Rose-Hulman a late lead.
For the match Rose out shot FC 15-1. Senior goalies Carter Wright and Michael Lawrence combined for the shutout.
The win improved RHIT's record to 12-4-1, 7-1-0 HCAC. Rose-Hulman earned a bid to the HCAC Tournament which begins next week. Franklin fell to 1-15, 0-8- HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers will host Hanover College in the regular season finale on Saturday October 28th at 3:30 p.m.
