Rose-Hulman Hosts Pomeroys in Dorsett Crosstown Classic Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will host the Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College Pomeroys in the 2017 edition of the Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic.  Tipoff from Hulbert Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 29.

Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic Notes:

* Rose-Hulman will host Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College in the 2017 edition of the Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic. 
* The crosstown rivals have played 24 times since 1995, with the Pomeroys of SMWC holding a slim 14-10 series advantage. 
* Rose-Hulman has won the last five meetings between the two teams.  Last season, Rose-Hulman won the Dorsett Automotive Crosstown Classic by a final score of 85-58.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

* Wednesday's game will be the home opener for the Fightin' Engineers.  RHIT has played its first five contests away from Hulbert Arena.
* RHIT has won 25 straight games at Hulbert Arena, the longest home winning streak in NCAA Division III women's basketball.
* Despite a 2-3 record through the first two weeks of the season, the Fightin' Engineers have played perhaps the toughest non-conference schedule in program history.  Rose-Hulman has played four consecutvie games against nationally-ranked opponents, all away from Hulbert Arena.  Rose notched a signature win at #22 Chicago back on November 21 by a final score of 64-62.  
* Rose-Hulman will begin Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday December 2 at home against Defiance College.  RHIT has won at least a share of the HCAC regular season title the past two seasons.  

Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods News & Notes:

* SMWC is currently 2-2 on the season; the Pomeroys have picked up wins against Lincoln Christian University and Blackburn College.
* The last time SMWC defeated Rose-Hulman was back on November 29, 2011.  SMWC won that game by a final score of 80-74.
* Freshman Maggie Reimer leads the team with 19.5 ppg and 7.3 rpg.  She is shooting 52.5% (32-61) from the floor and 70% (14-20) from the foul line.
