TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will travel to Earlham College for the annual John Mutchner Cup Game on Wednesday night in Richmond.

Rose-Hulman stands 8-6 and tied for fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings after Saturday's narrow overtime loss to HCAC co-leader Mount St. Joseph.  The Fightin' Engineers need two wins, or one win and a loss by either Bluffton or Manchester, to secure a bid into the HCAC Tournament that takes place later this month.

The Fightin' Engineers have won five of their last seven games entering Wednesday night's matchup.  The recent string of success is highlighted by a three-game winning streak over conference foes Hanover, Bluffton and Franklin.

The recent starting lineup has included junior Stephen Schueth (7.8 ppg); senior Wade Stallings (4.7 ppg); sophomore Charlie Aimone (17.1 ppg); sophomore Nick McGrail (6.8 ppg); and freshman John Czarnecki (8.7 ppg).  Senior Collin Wojcik leads a deep Rose-Hulman bench with an average of 13.5 points per contest.

Earlham stands 6-15 overall and 2-12 in league play entering Wednesday's matchup.  Sophomore Darrell Hutchison leads the Quakers in scoring (15.1 ppg) and is joined in double figures by junior Elijah Wilson-Thomas.

The John Mutchner Cup series is named for the Rose-Hulman former men's basketball coach and athletic director (1963-88) and Earlham standout athlete who has been inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at both institutions.  The Fightin' Engineers lead the one-time-per-year series 12-5 with three straight wins.

The overall series between Rose-Hulman and Earlham is tied 54-54 entering Wednesday's game.  The Fightin' Engineers hold the HCAC series lead by a 12-1 mark with seven consecutive wins.

After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman returns home to host Manchester on Senior Day this Saturday at 4 p.m.  Seniors Chris Schenck, Wade Stallings, Gary Ulrich and Collin Wojcik will be honored prior to their final weekend home game.
