Men's Tennis Hosts Transylvania on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team will play at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center for the first time in 2017 on Saturday April 1 against the Transylvania University Pioneers.  

Rose-Hulman has played the road game for much of the 2017 season playing eight matches on neutral courts and five true road matches.  Rose-Hulman is currently 8-5 on the year and 1-0 against HCAC competition.  Transy is 0-7 on the year.

RHIT has played stout competition all season long.  The Figthin' Engineers have dueled nationally-ranked Case Western Reserve and DePauw. On their Florida trip, Rose-Hulman squared off with NCAA Division II powers Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Tech.

In their most recent match this season, RHIT blanked Franklin by a final score of 9-0.  

So far two Engineers have garnered HCAC Player of the Week honors.   Brandon Benedict was named HCAC Player of the Week back on March 6, and Georges Adam earned HCAC POTW honors on March 13.  

The match between Transy and Rose-Hulman is set to begin at Noon on Saturday.  

After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman will play a pair of road matches on Sunday.  The Fightin' Engineers will face NCAA Division III Wooster at Fairborn (Ohio) Community Park at 11 a.m., before traveling to NCAA Division I Wright State at 4 p.m.
