HANOVER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team fell in a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Hanover College.
The women fell in game one of the day by a final score of 7-0. Janel Lake and Morgan Dreyer collected the only two hits of the game for Rose-Hulman.
In game two of the day the Fightin' Engineers fell to the Panthers by a final tally of 5-2. RHIT struck first in the game, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Michelle Korf doubled home Dreyer.
Hanover would then go on to score the next three runs of the ballgame to grab a two run advantage. The Fightin' Engineers scored their second run of the game in the top of the sixth inning. Bryly Shipman provided a RBI single.
In game two Dreyer went 3-4 at the plate and Korf finished the game 2-4. Rose-Hulman fell to 9-13, 1-5 HCAC. RHIT will play tomorrow at Manchester. The doubleheader against the Spartans is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
