TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team will play one final match before heading to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament in May. The Fightin' Engineers will travel to Greencastle, Indiana to square off against DePauw on Tuesday April 25.
Rose-Hulman defeated Franklin College 5-4 on Sunday April 23 to improve to 14-2 on the season. RHIT won four of the six singles matches to claim the victory. Winners included Bella Evans, Naomi Bhagat, Lauren Edwards and Becca Stanley at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions. In doubles play, the team of Evans and Edwards picked up a No. 2 doubles win by an 8-4 count. The deciding match was at No. 5 singles, where Stanley won a third-set tiebreak 10-8 to claim the match.
DePauw brings a 12-6 mark to Tuesday's match. The Tigers are 7-3 in their last 10 matches, with those three matches coming against NCAA Division III powers Washington (Mo.) and Case Western Reserve, and against NCAA Division I membmer IUPUI.
The match with the Tigers will begin at 6:30 p.m.
