TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opens the 2017-18 women's tennis season at the DePauw University Singles/Doubles Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE:
Rose-Hulman players will compete in a singles/doubles tournament at DePauw on Saturday and Sunday.
The first match each day begins at 8 a.m. at the Blackstock Stadium Courts.
RHIT NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman is the preseason favorite to capture the HCAC Championship this season, in the league coaches poll.
* The team reached its second NCAA Division III Tournament and its first since 2011 last season.
* Rose-Hulman tied a school record with 14 wins in 2016-17 and won the HCAC Tournament championship.
* Rose-Hulman returns three all-conference players from last season (Naomi Bhagat, Bella Evans, Anna Thompson) and the 2016 HCAC Freshman of the Year (Thompson).
* The team regular season begins at Defiance College on Sept. 9 at noon.
