SATURDAY LIVE STATS vs. OLIVET
FRANKLIN, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team fell in its opener Friday night against ninth-ranked Thomas More by a final score of 1-0.
The Fightin' Engineers played strong defense for the entire 90 minutes of action, limiting Thomas More to 13 shots. Senior goalie Carli Weinberg collected nine saves, including seven in the first half. The Saints were limited to just three shots in the second half, however, a goal in the 49th minute by Megan Sheridan provided the only offense of the game for either team.
Rose-Hulman posted just seven shots in the contest, but all four shots in the second half were on goal for the Fightin' Engineers. Freshman Maggie Sheerin fired two shots on goal for Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers (0-1-0) will be back in action tomorrow at 4 pm against Olivet College.
