TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will square off against its second nationally-ranked opponent Thursday evening when the Fightin' Engineers travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Washington University Bears. RHIT narrowly fell to ninth-ranked Thomas More earlier this season. Washington University, the defending NCAA Division III champions, are ranked No. 1 in the country. Kickoff Thursday is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT).

* The Fightin' Engineers (1-2-0) picked up their first win of 2017 last night with a 1-0 shutout of Greenville University at Intramural Field.
* Senior Kirby Kern scored her first goal of the season late in the second half to propel Rose-Hulman past the Panthers.
* Last season, Rose-Hulman and Wash U. met in Terre Haute. RHIT dropped a close, hard fought contest 2-0.

* In 2016, the Bears compiled an 18-2-4 overall record in route to the 2016 NCAA Championship.
* The Bears opened the 2017 season with a 4-1 win at DePauw University on Friday September 1.
