Engineers Remain Perfect in HCAC After Win Over Transylvania

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers remain perfect in the HCAC with a 77-59 women's basketball win over Transylvania.  This improves the Engineers to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the HCAC with the team's 37th consecutive win over league opposition.

Abby Bromenschenkel led the team with a career-high 28 points, along with 4 blocks and 4 rebounds.  Debie Gedeon was the teams second leading scorer with a career-high 16 points.  She also ended the game with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  Morgan Brown was also able to record a career-high in scoring with 11 points and 3 assists in her first career start.  

Other offensive key contributors included Kayla Gerken with 9 points and Ally Bromenschenkel with 8 points.  

The game started as a tight contest between both teams.  The Engineers were able to establish a lead at the end of the first quarter with the score at 19-11.  Rose-Hulman was able to play outstanding defense in the second quarter to maintain their lead.  They outscored the Pioneers 17-5 in the quarter to hold a dominate 36-16 lead heading into halftime.  Abby Bromenschenkel lead the team with 10 points in the first half.  

Transylvania came out of the second half looking to decrease the deficit.  The Engineers were able to maintain their lead going into the final quarter of play with the score at 53-38.  Rose-Hulman would ultimately end the game victorious over the Pioneers with a final score of 77-59. 

The Engineers finished the night shooting 50.0% from the field and 77.8% from the free throw line.  They were able to end the game with a 34-27 rebounding advantage.

The Engineers stand at 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the HCAC so far this season.  Rose-Hulman will look ahead to travel and face Manchester on Saturday 12/15 at 3:00 PM.
