Rose-Hulman Heads to Bluffton on Saturday for HCAC Clash

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Another critical road test awaits the Fightin' Engineers as they travel to Bluffton to take on the Beavers on Saturday February 3.  Bluffton sits in a tie for second place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings while Rose-Hulman will try to inch closer towards capturing the HCAC Regular Season championship.  Tipoff from Ohio is slated for 3 p.m., following the conclusion of the men's game.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes

* RHIT has won 15 straight games heading into Saturday's contest; the Fightin' Engineers have not lost since November 2017.
* Rose-Hulman currently sits in first place of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with an overall record of 17-3 and a league record of 13-0.
* RHIT came from behind against Hanover on Wednesday January 31 to steal a 65-55 road victory.  
* Senior Lindsey Fagerberg had a strong game against Hanover, fnishing with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Junior Ally Bromenschenkel (17 points) and Chiarra Franklin (11) also scored in double figures to help guide Rose past a scrappy Panthers squad.  
* Head Coach Jon Prevo emphasizes keeping the ball out of the lane and forcing opponents to convert tough scoring opportunities.  RHIT ranks 8th nationally in scoring defense, as the Fightin' Engineers allow just 47.5 points per game.

Bluffton News & Notes

* Bluffton will be a tough road test for the Engineers as the Beavers are currently in a tie for second place in the league standings.
* BU is currently 15-5 overall and 10-3 HCAC.
* Bluffton powered past Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday January 31 by a final score of 51-26,  Bluffton limited MSJ to just 15 rebounds in the game. 
* Seniors Macey Sheerer (14.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and Kacey Rowe (14.8 ppg, 9.1 rpg) have led the Bluffton offense and defense all season long.  Sophomore TJ Mills (10.4 ppg) is also scoring in double figures.

Rose-Hulman 64, Bluffton 40: 

* RHIT topped Bluffton in the first meeting between these two teams earlier this season on January 13 in Terre Haute. 
* Rose's stingy defense limited the Beavers to just 23% (12-53) shooting for the game and held BU to single digits scoring in the first and third quarters.  
Taylor Graham (13 points, 2 asts, 2 stls) and Chiarra Franklin (13 points, 8 rebs, 2 asts, and 1 steal) came off the bench to help guide RHIT to victory in the first matchup this season.
