AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- St. Mary's College (Minn.) relied on three-run innings in the 3rd and 6th frames to earn a 8-4 baseball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in non-conference action on Thursday at Lake Myrtle Stadium.
Matthew Piechowski led the offense with four hits, including a triple, and three RBIs for the Cardinals. Ryan Wolfe recorded six strikeouts in a six-inning performance to pick up the victory.
The Rose-Hulman offense was led by David Burnside with two hits, highlighted by a triple, and one RBI. Logan Cody added a double and scored two runs. Harris Camp also contributed a single and an RBI to the offense.
Trevor Dallio started and recorded seven strikeouts in five innings of work to lead the Fightin' Engineer pitching performance.
St. Mary's improved to 3-3 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-5. The Fightin' Engineers conclude the Florida portion of their spring trip with a matchup against Alma on Friday morning.
